16 Reasons Why We’re Pumped AF For The “Gilmore Girls” Netflix Revival

Last night (October 20) the internet shed a tear of happiness when it was announced that Gilmore Girls is in talks for a return.

The show about Lorelai and Rory Gilmore, a mother/daughter duo who double as best friends, has been off the air for eight tragic years — every one of which we spent theorizing how the show could come back into our lives. Now, word on the street is that we will see a revival of sorts on Netflix.

According to TVLine, It’s being speculated that the revival will take the form of four 90-minute episodes (or short movies if you prefer) on Netflix — the alleged plan is that the mini-series of sorts will take place 8 years into the future — yeah, modern day.

Just think of Lorelai’s fashion.

We’re so incredibly down with this storyline that was allegedly pitched by Gilmore Girl creator Sherman-Palladino and exec producer Daniel Palladino. Did we mention that the core cast is supposedly involved — Lauren Graham, Alexis Bledel, Kelly Bishop, and Scott Paterson.

Considering the speculation behind the revival, you maybe asking if this is the real deal — so you may interpret Gilmore Girls actress Lauren Graham’s words the way you want to:

After being added to Netflix US and Netflix Canada, a second wave of people discovered Gilmore Girls, making the show even more relevant than before — and then the biggest thing that could happen (so we thought) happened — the cast got together for a reunion of epic proportions at the ATX TV Festival in Texas. It seemed like a matter of time before something big was announced about the show that we’ve held close to our hearts so dearly — and then last night happened. We’re not over it.

We’re still reeling from the news. Bring on ALL of the Gilmore Girls throw back/ revival theory lists.

Because there can’t be a Gilmore Girls discussion that we are not part of, here is, quite simply, the reasons why we are so excited for this revival if and when it happens. It has to happen.
