Here at ANDPOP we are on top of every and all types of covers. We’ve compiled the best covers by our girls Fifth Harmony, reminisced about Tory Kelly’s covers with fellow YuuTubers, swooned over Years & Years’ covers, and took our obsession with Justin Bieber’s What Do You Mean to new levels by rounding up covers of the track by our fave YouTubers.
Yeah, you could say we like our covers.
The best covers take the original tracks and reimagine them to tell a different type of story. This is why it doesn’t get better than when popular rap tracks are stripped down and given the soulful, acoustic treatment. Some of our fave artists (especially Ed Sheeran) love to give the hottest rap tunes a makeover and, to be honest, we play them on a loop.
Here are our favourite sweet covers of rap tunes by some of our fave musicians
Sam Smith & Discosure covers Drake’s “Hotline Bling”
Sam Smith can sing anything and sound beautiful. It’s not even fair.
Ed Sheeran covers Fetty Wap’s “Trap Queen”
We’re kind of obsessed. Slay Ed.
Florence and the Machine cover Drake’s “Take Care”
It may as well be a totally different tune. We dig it.
Josh Ramsay covers Nicki Minaj’s “Anaconda”
And you probably thought ‘Anaconda” could never be a sweet ballad. Pshh…
Alex G covers “Thrift Shop”
This YouTuber musician KILLED this cover.
The Arctic Monkeys cover Drake’s “Hold On We’re Going Home”
We love the different sound The Arctic Monkeys gave to the popular song. We can’t get enough of it.
Kelly Clarkson covers Rihanna’s “B*tch Better Have My Money”
We may as well call her Queen Kelly. You’ve never heard this song like this.
Scott Hoying and Mitch Grassi (Superfruit) covering… everything
They even made a part two… These two are pure magic.
Camilla Cabello covers The Weeknd’s “The Hills”
Mashed up with Beyonce’s “Crazy In Love,” this cover from the Fifth Harmony member is amazing. SANG GIRL.
Taylor Swift covers Eminem’s “Lose Yourself”
It’s safe to say that we didn’t know how badly we needed this in our lives until we saw it for ourselves
James Bay covers Paul McCartney, Kanye West & Rihanna’s “FourFiveSeconds”
This is a stretch but it’s James Bay covering Kanye West. We’ll allow it.
Ed Sheeran covers “No Diggity”
Ed has found his niche — turning rap tracks into sweet-sounding tunes.
Also covers Beyonce’s “Drunk In Love”
We apologize for the heavy doses of Ed Sheeran, but the obsession is real.
Justin Bieber covers Kanye West’s “Heartless”
The biggest throw back to ever be thrown back. Baby Biebs.
Alex Aiono covers Fetty Wap’s “My Way”
The YouTuber always delivers innovative re-imaging of popular tunes and we can’t get enough of it.
