10 Things We Look Forward To In The Fall

While most Canadians are usually depressed, angry or just in denial over the fact that winter is coming, fall (or is it autumn?) is just one of those seasons that everyone seems to love. So as you switch out your bathing suit for your trench coat, keep in mind our top 10 reasons why you should look forward to such a beautiful time of the year!

The Changing Leaves

Canadians are lucky because we get to enjoy some of the most beautiful fall foliage in the world. Check out a list of some of our most beautiful parks here.

Pumpkin Spice Lattes

While pumpkin spice lattes at Starbucks are the staple of the season, you can enjoy it in other ways including pumpkin spice candles and cupcakes!

Comfy Sweaters

Plaids, tweed, cable knit — the possibilities for comfy yet stylish sweaters are endless.

Layers

To compliment those sweaters, layering up in military or moto jackets is both fashionable and functional, and looks trendy no matter what style is fresh off the runway.

Halloween

Well, there’s that, the candy, the scary movies, the not-sexy-but-totally-funny costumes, etc.

Oktoberfest

The biggest Oktoberfest festival in North America happens in Kitchener-Waterloo, Ont. Who’s going to argue with socially acceptable drunkenness at 3 p.m.? The people who were smart enough to stay sober and as such, we apologize in advance.

Thanksgiving

You might not be excited for the conversations about your love life, or lack thereof, and what you’ll be doing with the rest of your life, but you can always ignore those awkward conversations delicious turkey and stuffing.

The Weather

The weather is warm enough where you don’t have to dress like an Arctic explorer, but crisp enough where you’re not sweating buckets. Fall is like the room temperature of the seasons: just right.

The Comfort Food

Flavours like cinnamon and treats like caramel apples just seem better in the fall than any other season.

New TV Shows

Our favourite shows (American Horror Story, Vampire Diaries and New Girl) make their return to television at the perfect time – just when you’re studying for midterms and exams! Hooray!

Bonus: The Hunger Games
