While it’s been 10 years since Friends left the air, Jimmy Kimmel hosted a mini-reunion on his show Wednesday night featuring Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox and Lisa Kudrow.
Aniston, who was there to promote her new film Life of Crime, was invited to take part in some fan-fiction written by Kimmel. As he revealed an exact replica of the iconic kitchen from Friends’ New York apartment, Aniston and Kimmel read their scripts together, which largely had to do with the two of them making love (Kimmel was playing Ross).
“This is really dumb,” said Aniston, who was reprising her role as Rachel Green.
“Is it dumber than living in a huge apartment in New York City for eight years even though you work in a coffee shop?” Kimmel responded, forcing Aniston to continue reading her script.
And to the audience’s delight, the pair was soon joined by Friends stars Courtney Cox (who played Monica Geller) and Lisa Kudrow (Phoebe Buffay), who were also told to praise Kimmel for his skills in making love in their scripts. But while it was happy to see the mini-reunion, fans were let down with some sad, sad news. According to Kimmel’s fan-fiction, Ross and Chandler are no longer with the group.
“Marcel the monkey bit them and gave them monkey rabies, and they died,” revealed Kimmel.
This might just be the closest we’ll ever get to a Friends reunion. But at least everyone involved still seem like good friends!!
Well…maybe except for Kimmel.
