While production for Marvel’s Ant-Man has been a complicated and lengthy process, the first official image of the film’s star, Paul Rudd, has finally been released.
But if fans are hoping to catch a glimpse of Rudd looking strong and heroic, the released picture is anything but. Appearing unshaven and wearing a black hoodie, his character instead looks like he has seen better days as he lurks around the the Golden Gate Bridge next to a sketchy-looking van.
Directed by Peyton Reed, Ant-Man will surround a con-man named Scott Lang (Rudd), who must help his mentor Dr. Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) in protecting the mystery of a technology that allows its user to decrease in size but increase in strength in order to defend the Earth. Also appearing in the movie, will be Bobby Cannavale, Michael Peña, Abby Ryder Fortson, Judy Greer, David Dastmalchian, Wood Harris, Gregg Turkington and rapper T.I.
According to USA Today, production for the film started in San Francisco on Monday. Scenes will also be filmed in Atlanta, Georgia.
Ant-Man is set to release July 15, 2015.
