Charlie Sheen can do whatever the hell he wants. Instead of following in the footsteps of celebs like Justin Bieber, Mr. Sheen did the ALS Bucket Challenge his own way.
In a video posted by TMZ, Sheen is seen standing on a carpeted floor, making us suspicious about how he was going to pull off the task without causing a disaster.
But what he soon did after made much more sense.
Instead of the usual bucket of ice water that participants have had to pour over their heads, Sheen dumps $10,000 of cash on himself, which he said he would donate to the ALS foundation.
“Let’s face it. Ice is gonna melt, but this money is actually going to help people,” Sheen said in his video, presumably calling out the masses who have been dumping water over their heads instead of donating money.
The challenge, which attempts to raise awareness for Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (aka Lou Gehrig’s Disease), asks participants to either pour a bucket of ice water over their heads in 24 hours or donate $100 to ALS research if they don’t follow through. According to CBC, the ALS Association has since raised $15.6 million since July 29.
Interestingly, Sheen challenged Two And A Half Men‘s Jon Cryer, Ashton Kutcher and Chuck Lorre to follow suit after dumping $10,000 on himself. Because for those who don’t remember, Sheen had previously publicized Cryer and Lorre when he was fired from the TV show in 2011. He was also critical of Kutcher when he was cast as his replacement.
With that said though, Jon Cryer has since responded and it appears that he will be taking up Mr. Sheen’s offer.
