New details surrounding Robin Williams’ death has surfaced, as TMZ reports that he died because of a suicide.
According to the website, Williams took his life by hanging himself inside his California home. TMZ’s sources say that his family have heard nothing about a suicide note and it appears the comedian did not leave one.
More details will be revealed as law enforcement will be discussing the incident publicly today (Aug. 12) at 11AM PT.
At this time, the actor’s family asks for privacy.
However, Williams’ wife Susan Schneider and daughter Zelda Williams both left touching tributes to him.

UPDATE: The Sheriff’s office has now confirmed that Williams committed suicide in his California home due to asphyxia. He was found dead by his personal assistant with a belt around his neck.
Williams, who was 63, had suffered with depression and substance abuse issues for years.
Toxicology tests will be performed and the investigation is still undergoing. Williams was last seen alive in his home Sunday night.
