As they say in one of their most popular songs, The Lonely Island will soon be taking over our movie screens ‘Like A Boss.’
According to Variety, Universal Pictures is developing a film from the comedic musical trio composed of Andy Samberg, Jorma Taccone and Akiva Schaffer. The group will star in and produce the comedy set in the world of music, which will also have director Judd Apatow serving as a producer.
Of course, this isn’t the first time the group has teamed up to make a film. In 2007, the trio developed a littler-known film called Hot Rod, a sports comedy about “a self-proclaimed stuntman preparing for the jump of his life – to clear fifteen buses to raise money for his abusive stepfather Frank’s life-saving heart operation.”
Having released three studio albums since 2009, The Lonely Island has since collaborated with the likes of Kendrick Lamar, Adam Levine, Solange and of course, Justin Timberlake. While the movie is still in the works, we’re hoping several musicians will come in and make cameos!!
