Musical Prozac: Ariana Grande, Karen O and More

Ariana Grande

Every week, ANDPOP’s music aficionado, Evan Ross, shares what she’s been listening to lately. Here are her latest picks.

“Wonderful Everyday: Arthur” by Chance the Rapper & The Social Experiment

Chance the Rapper has been doing an amazing cover of Ziggy Marley’s Arthur theme song for a while now, and he has finally released the studio version. And I say Hey! It’s also available as a free download on Soundcloud.

“Rapt” by Karen O

The first video from Karen O’s eagerly anticipated Crush Songs which is out in September. This is the first full solo album by the Yeah Yeah Yeah’s frontwoman and, based on this short but sweet song, I could not be more excited.

“The Electric Lady” by Janelle Monae

Janelle Monae continues to slay in her latest video. Brb as I run off to join a sorority.

“Bang Bang” by Jessie J ft. Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj

This song is an example of everything that I love about pop music. Old-school production, bad ass vocals, brass instruments, and Nicki Minaj. I have this down as a late contender for song of the summer or at least Song of the Summer that Makes You Dance In Your Underwear.
