5 Seconds of Summer have such devoted fans that they’d be willing to kiss a computer screen just to be closer with them. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, but the prank these boys pulled on some of their biggest devotees last night was oh, so hilarious.
Performing on an episode of Jimmy Kimmel Live, the band decided to help trick some of their fans by having some of them go into the studio to send them a video message. In there, they were soon surprised with a greeting from either Michael Clifford, Luke Hemmings, Calum Hood or Ashton Irwin, who asked them to kiss the screen in front of them in order to break a record for kissing the most fans.
That being said though, it was all too good to be true. As the girls closed their eyes and puckered up, each 5SOS member was soon replaced by either an elderly bearded man, a creepy masked figure or Kimmel’s partner-in-crime Guillermo Rodriguez.
Luckily though, there was no crying as the fans laughed and reacted with, “Oh my God!” and “Ew!!”
If any fan of 5SOS knows anything about the boys, it’s that they love playing a good joke. After all, the boys DID come out and greet their fans after the prank, allowing them to touch their idols for real.
