We thought we’d never see it, but here’s an idea of what Paul Rudd will look like in the upcoming superhero film Ant-Man.
Marvel has released a poster of the superhero has been released ahead of Marvel’s panel at Comic-Con this weekend. And according to EW, the “illustration is a piece of pre-production art” that was specifically made for the event.
Of course, it hasn’t been an easy couple of months for Ant-Man, as director and co-writer Edgar Wright abruptly dropped out of the project two months ago after working on the film for eight years.
However, it appears that production for the film is well underway. Peyton Reed (The Break-Up, Bring It On) has signed on to direct the story while Adam Mackay (Anchorman), has signed up to rewrite the script by Wright and Joe Cornish.
Starring Paul Rudd and Michael Douglas, Ant-Man will begin shooting in August. The film will surround a con-man named Scott Lang (Rudd), who must help his mentor Dr. Hank Pym (Douglas) in safeguarding the mystery of a technology that allows its user to decrease in size but increase in strength in order to defend the Earth.
Here’s to hoping all goes well! We can’t wait to see Rudd don a superhero suit!
