The first teaser for Mockingjay: The Hunger Games Part 1 gave us a taste of President Snow’s thirst for hunger and power. And while he tries to warn the nation of Panem about the dangers of not conforming to society, his message is lost when Beetee (Jeffrey Wright) tampers with the system and says, “The Mockingjay lives.”
It’s a haunting and thrilling 52 seconds, which also gives audiences a sense of hope. Those who read the books and saw the movies will understand why President Snow is flanked by Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) and Johanna Mason (Jena Malone). In Catching Fire, the two were captured by the Capitol and separated from the other District Champions who end up in District 13.
Based on Suzanne Collins’ popular young adult novels, this film looks to be one of the darkest installments of The Hunger Games franchise…and we can’t wait to see what the film has in store for audiences!
Mockingjay: The Hunger Games Part 1 is set to release November 21.
