The 5th Wave is reaching new heights in production as Nick Robinson and Alex Roe have been added to the cast, filling integral roles in the story. As this movie continue to piece together, we just keep getting more excited. It’s really happening.

According to EW, Roe will be playing the mysterious Evan, and Robinson will be playing Ben Parish who goes by the name of “Zombie.” The pairs co-star, Moretz ,will also be starring in the film adaptation of Gayle Forman’s If I Stay, slated for release later this year.

The film adaption of the Rick Yancey novel of the same name will focus on 16-year-old Cassie who is forced to go find her brother and save his life. No big deal. Except…it’s a big deal. Did we mention her world is currently under an alien invasion? Of course on her journey Cassie also comes across Evan, a mysterious boy who she doesn’t know if she can trust.

Rick Yancey’s The 5th Wave is the first in a to-be trilogy. The next book The Infinite Sea is set to hit shelves on Sep. 1. Our wait for The 5th Wave should not be long, since it is scheduled to start production September 15. We need this movie yesterday, we just can’t wait to see Moretz slay yet another killer role.
