The first part of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 doesn’t come out until this November, but Lionsgate has just released a teaser trailer featuring President Snow (played hauntingly by Donald Sutherland) addressing the nation of Panem in a propaganda-filled advert.

“Since the dark days our great nation has known only peace. Ours is an elegant system, conceived to nourish and protect,” he says at the beginning of his speech.

“Your districts are the body, the Capitol is the beating heart. Your hard work feeds us, and in return we feed and protect you.”

But turning onto a dark note, Snow, who is accompanied by Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson) at his side, warns the citizens of Panem to fall in line with the system of the Capitol. Because if they don’t, they will face consequences.

“But if you resist the system, you starve yourself. If you fight against it, it is you who will bleed. I know you will stand with me, with us, with all of us, together, as one.”

He then concludes his speech by saying, “Panem today, Panem tomorrow, Panem forever.”

This chilling trailer also follows a series of posters featuring portraits of “district heroes.”

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Pt. 1 releases in theatres November 21, 2014.

While Jennifer Lawrence returns in the main role of Katniss Everdeen, the movie will also include Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Julianne Moore, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Stanley Tucci.
