Frances Bean Cobain Criticizes Lana Del Rey For Romanticizing Death

Lana Del Rey has certainly turned a couple of heads with her comments  in interviews. Most recently in a profile for The Guardian, she said that she wished wasn’t alive anymore after explaining how she and her boyfriend idolize icons like Amy Winehouse and Kurt Cobain – both musicians, who have died young.

“I wish I was dead already,” she said. And after the interviewer challenged her, Del Rey responded, “I do! I don’t want to have to keep doing this. But I am.”

Clearly taken aback by the comments, Cobain’s daughter, Frances Bean, called out the singer on Twitter for romanticizing death. As her father died less two years after she was born, Frances told Del Rey that because he died young, she will never know him.

Personally, I think Frances sounds smart and very self aware. But soon enough, people began defending Del Rey’s comments.

But not to add fire to the storm, Frances just wanted to tell Del Rey to “embrace life” rather than wishing she was dead already.
