The last time we saw Barry Allen, played by Glee’s Grant Gustin, was when he was struck by lightning in his lab, back when he appeared on Arrow . This teaser featurette from DC Entertainment for the spinoff show The Flash gives us a little bit of an idea of what he has been up too since then. Since the accident it seems that Barry Allen has both made the steps towards becoming The Flash, and has been friend-zoned while at it. Glee‘s Grant Gustin will be starring as the title character in the upcoming CW Arrow spinoff show about scientist turned superhero and we can’t wait.
Gustin stars alongside Candice Patton who plays Iris West, Barry’s long time friend and long time love interest. Patton explains in the teaser trailer that Barry has lived with Iris ever since his mother died, which has made them a bit more like brother and sister than Barry would like to admit. It looks like Barry has it bad for Iris, but its hard not to be friend-zoned when you have known (and lived) with someone for so long.
Every time we see something from The Flash, we can’t help but get giddy about its impending premiere. We know Gustin won’t be doing much singing and dancing on this show, but we know that he will still wow us with his performance.
The Flash will air Tuesdays this fall.
