It looks like Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone are continuing to take the Spider-Man line “With power comes great responsibility” to heart.
Once again, the two decided to support their favourite charities after they spotted the paparazzi in New York City. Garfield and Stone held up plain cards with the websites of four charities written on them as they walked along the street.
Their message read:
“Good morning! We were eating and saw a group of guys with camera outside. And so we thought, let’s try this again. We don’t need the attention, but these wonderful organizations do:
(and don’t forget:)
Here’s to the stuff that matters. Have a great day!”
The charities they gave a shout out to are:
- Youth Mentoring Connection is an organization that pairs at-risk youth in the Los Angeles area with mentors
- Austism Speaks is an autism science and advocacy organization dedicated to funding research for autism, increasing awareness of the different kinds of autism, advocating for the needs of individuals with autism and their families
- Worldwide Orphans is an organization whose mission is to transform the lives of orphans by addressing their medical, mental, educational and psychosocial needs
- Gilda Club NYC offers a place where men, women and children can find support as they live with cancer.
Garfield and Stone pulled the same charitable move back in 2012.
It’s one thing for celebs to go to fancy charity events in suits and gowns, but it’s another to see them continue to support those charities on their own free time, something these two do frequently.
Thanks, Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone, for show us time and time again that there are decent people in Hollywood and for highlighting these great charities.
