Clearly, we all need a friend like Benedict Cumberbatch.
When Cumberbatch heard movie critic Mark Kermode on air call his Imitation Game co-star Keira Knightley “Ikea Knightley,” and insulting her “wooden acting,” he was not impressed. In fact, being the caring friend he is, Benedict punched Kermode on the arm, reported DailyMail.
The 27-year-old actress and long time friend of Cumberbatch told ELLE that she approached Cumberbatch about the situation, asking “did you punch a journalist.” His response? “I f***ing did.” “Everyone needs a friend like that,” she commented.
Cumberbatch is no stranger to unkind media, as he has been seen covering his face in pictures on the Sherlock set and holding up letters asking politically relevant questions to make a statement about paparazzi and world issues.
The Imitation Game hits theatres November 21.
