Being famous can have many perks but also several disadvantages. And when you’re as popular as Miley Cyrus, you better get extra protection.
According to the Associated Press, Cyrus was granted a temporary restraining order Friday against an Arizona man who was recently detained by the police for trying to meet her earlier this month.
The singer was granted a stay-away order from 24-year-old Devon Meek, who believes Cyrus was sending him messages through her songs. He was arrested outside of a property he believed is owned by the ‘ Wrecking Ball’ singer and placed into a psychiatric hospital, where he is still staying in at the moment. However, the court documents currently don’t specify the location he was arrested in.
According to a written sworn statement by Detective Rosibel Smith, Meek told officers they should shoot him in the head if he couldn’t meet Cyrus.
Smith also wrote that an officer who interviewed Meek “informed me that Mr. Meek stated that when he is released from the hospital, he will not stop seeking Ms. Cyrus and that he will continue to go to Ms. Cyrus’ residence until Ms. Cyrus accepts him or he dies.”
While there is no declaration from Cyrus in the files, we hope all is well from her side.
A hearing to extend the restraining order for three years is also scheduled for June 16.
