Across The Pond: Alan Carr

Alan Carr

As an admirer of British pop culture, ANDPOP’s Rebecca Mattina jumped at the opportunity to live in the United Kingdom for five months. While there, she’ll be writing about all the amazing things we’re missing out on from across the pond.

Alan Carr is easily one of the most likeable people on British TV.

Thanks to his perfect combination of sassy and sweet, his extroverted personality is infectious and can instantly make me laugh. Whether it’s his stand-up comedy, his own show or his guest appearances, Alan is always cheeky and fabulous.

Carr has been hosting his own talk show, Chatty Man, since 2009. It’s easy to see how much fun his famous guests have when they come on his show and it always starts with the fun selection of drinks he offers them. Instead of water or coffee, in true Alan fashion, he has a tray of fun and random alcoholic drinks.

I love this clip of the ladies of film, The Other Woman, having a bit of tequila with Alan.

When I think of some of the best moments on Alan’s show, the boys of One Direction always come to mind (honestly they’re always on my mind). For your viewing pleasure, make sure to watch One Direction on Chatty Man when they were just starting out HERE. Cue the feels!

You never know what you’re going to see his show — that’s a guarantee. You might see a dance off between Alan and One Direction, or maybe a lesson in “sexercising” with Kylie Minogue.

Pick up any one of Alan’s live comedy DVDs or his book, and get ready to literally LOL!
