Movie studio Warner Bros. has set a November 18, 2016 release date for the first instalment of J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter spinoff book/Hogwarts textbook, Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them.

The film version will follow Newt Scamander, the “magizoologist” and the author of the fictitious book, and will be set seven decades before the boy wizard first steps foot in Hogwarts.

Warner Bros. boss Kevin Tsujihara revealed that the project will be split into a trilogy back in March. The trilogy is neither a prequel or sequel to the Harry Potter films, and should be thought of as an extension of the wizarding world.

Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them was first published in 2001 with proceeds going towards the U.K. charity Comic Relief. J.K. Rowling is slated to write the screenplay.
