Toronto is embroiled in yet another Rob Ford scandal and this time, it looks like Justin Bieber has a surprisingly role in this story.
The mayor made headlines Wednesday night as a second video allegedly showing Ford smoking crack surfaced.
According to the Globe and Mail, the second video was recorded early Saturday morning in his sister’s basement by a self-professed drug dealer. The dealer in question is looking to sell the video for six figures. The news has forced Ford to take a leave of absence from office and his reelection campaign, admit his problem with substance abuse and enter rehab.
Apparently, this is just the latest twist in Ford’s recent downward spiral. The Toronto Star is reporting that the mayor relapsed during St. Patrick’s Day weekend. He took four men down to the Toronto nightclub Muzik (where he’s a regular) on March 15 where he reportedly began to drink heavily.
While there, the mayor also ran into pop star Justin Bieber in the club’s common area, according to the paper’s witnesses. That’s when Bieber jokingly asked Ford, “Did you bring any crack to smoke?” as the mayor tried to shake the pop star’s hand.
The mayor became enraged over the comment and had to be taken back to his party booth.
Justin Bieber nor his management have yet to comment on the pop star’s run-in with the troubled mayor.
