Remember when Aaron Carter sent out those tweets professing his love for Hilary Duff back in March? Turns out, that’s not all he has to say to the newly single actress.
The “I Want Candy” singer opened up to Entertainment Tonight’s Rob Marciano to talk about his feelings for Hilary, promising that he’s “not gonna give up on Hilary … ever.”
“…I don’t know who she is today, she doesn’t know who I am today but I would sweep her off her feet if I ever got a chance to again and fix what I did wrong,” Aaron said after being asked if he still loved Hilary.
Aaron and Hilary briefly dated in the early 2000s before a reported love triangle between them and Lindsay Lohan (whom he dated after his relationship with Hilary ended) officially tore the two a part. It took years for Aaron to admit that letting go of Hilary was a mistake.
“Don’t be that stupid douche that loses the love of your life forever.. Like me…,” he tweeted in March.
“I’ll spend the rest of my life trying to better myself to get back to her. I don’t care what ANY of you think. ????,” read another tweet.
It also appears that Aaron isn’t fazed by the fact that Hilary hasn’t responded to his tweets of admiration: “That wasn’t meant for the media or anybody like that…I didn’t think about it really. I wasn’t really looking for [a response] either. I’m sure she got the message.”
“I’m going to do everything in my power to fix those relationships in my life just like I want to fix the relationship I had with the love of my life,” he said.
Hilary Duff recently split up with her former hockey player husband Mike Comrie. They have one son together.
