As if your summer wasn’t going to be emotional enough with the release of The Fault in our Stars, here’s your first look at another YA-novel-turned-movie tearjerker, If I Stay.
Based on author Gayle Forman’s book of the same name, the film follows Mia (Kick-Ass’s Chloë Grace Moretz), a talented, Julliard-bound cellist who loses her family into a car crash and falls into a coma. She then watches life go on around her through an out-of-body experience and must decide whether or not she should rejoin her boyfriend Adam (Jamie Blackley) in the land of the living or give up and die.
Apparently, we all need to buy giant boxes of tissue whenever we go to the movies this summer. Or the theatres could start selling them. Just a thought.
If I Stay hits theatres August 22. Will you be watching?
