Anna Kendrick took her flawlessness onto live television for what could possibly be the best episode of Saturday Night Live this season.
It shouldn’t be a surprise that the Tony- and Oscar-nominated actress did so well considering just how hilarious Kendrick is on film and on Twitter. But with SNL’s inconsistent work this season (most likely due to the large crop of new cast members), it was really nice to see the team and Kendrick deliver a number of strong skits this weekend.
Among the best sketches the night were The Little Mermaid spoof and the song, “Dongs All Over The World.”
In the first, Kendrick dons a red wig and a mermaid tail to become Ariel, who is about her voice away to Ursula. But instead of “tra la la”-ing, Ariel sings Ke$ha’s “We R Who We R,” Britney Spears’ “Womanizer,” Selena Gomez’s “Come & Get It,” and Iggy Azalea’s “Fancy” (“She’s white!”).
Meanwhile, “Dongs All Over The World” (featuring Icona Pop and the SNL ladies) just might be her “Dick in A Box.” It’s just as raunchy as the Lonely Island/Justin Timberlake track and equally fun and hilarious.
Basically, Kendrick needs to return to SNL every season because the girl is perfect and we just can’t seem to get enough.
