In the world of celebrity news, there’s no shortage of hits and misses. This week, Chris Evans passes the superhero torch and Taco Bell burns Justin Bieber.
HIT: Chris Evans passes the (human) torch to Michael B. Jordan
Before donning the Captain’s famous red and blue suit, Evans was Fantastic Four’s Johnny Storm a.k.a. the human torch in Fantastic Four and its sequel. With the reboot on the horizon, it was nice to see that Captain America is ready to pass the torch onto the newly recruited Michael B. Jordan. “It’s so funny, you almost feel precious over the role that you don’t want someone else to do it,” Evans said during a junket for Captain America: The Winter Soldier. “But when you hear someone phenomenal is doing it, it’s very exciting like you almost can’t wait.”
MISS: #RIPZAYNMALIK begins trending on Twitter
The trending topic #RIPZAYNMALIK is probably this year’s cruelest and dumbest April Fools joke. Directioners weren’t too happy when the hashtag—spurned from a fake BBC news story claiming that the One Direction member was dead—began trending on Twitter.
But hey, at least we got this beaut of a tweet:
#RipZaynMalik More like rip all your clothes off Zayn Malik

HIT: Kristen Bell Sings All of Anna’s Parts in “Do You Want To Build A Snow Man”
I know, I know: UGH! Another Frozen thing? It’s been months; why isn’t anyone over it yet?
Well, imaginary buddy, it’s actually quite impossible to get over it especially when one of the film’s voice actors — Kristen Bell — does one kick-ass performance. More specifically, this live performance of “Do You Want To Build A Snowman?” She does ALL OF ELSA’S VOICES! IT’S SOOOO CUTE AND GOOD AND AMAZING… AHHHHH!
MISS: Taco Bell burns Justin Bieber on Reddit
Taco Bell recently launched their Breakfast Menu which includes the now famous “Waffle Taco.” To promote the launch, the fast-food chain’s president, Brian Niccol, took part in an Ask Me Anything (AMA) chat on Reddit. When one user asked why the new menu is only in America and if/when it will come to Canada, Niccol replied with, “When you take Justin Bieber back.” And some of the user reactions were priceless.
That’s a fast food burn.
HIT: Johnny Depp is officially engaged he’s wearing a ring to show it
It’s true: Johnny Depp is officially betrothed and his fiancee, Amber Heard, is the one who put a ring on it. The tabloids have been speculating about this engagement for a long time but it became officially after the actor was spotted wearing an engagement ring at a press conference in China. “The fact that I’m wearing a chick’s ring on my finger is probably a dead giveaway,” he said. “Not very subtle.” So what’s the deal? According to Us Weekly, the ring was too big for Amber’s finger so Johnny started wearing it. That’s kind of cute.
MISS: Drake Bell slams just about every young celeb in a BuzzFeed interview
It looks like Drake Bell won’t be making any new friends any time soon. In an interview with BuzzFeed, Bell called out Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande on their behaviour and the way they handle their fans. Bell says he isn’t a fan of the fandom cliques, what they represent and the messages they send. “What’s worse is artists like Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber don’t come out and say, ‘I love having you as my fans, but you shouldn’t be acting this way.’ They just eat it all up, and I think it’s repulsive,” he told BuzzFeed.
He also slammed their work ethic and right to be famous: “I don’t think a lot of these young people have to work very hard. They’re found on YouTube and, boom, thrown into the studio so they think they can get anything they want.”
Well, considering Ariana Grande starring in a Broadway show when she was 15 and Lady Gaga has often asked her Little Monsters to spread love and not hate, we think Drake is spouting some bullshit.
