It’s weird to think the Harry Potter series ended three years ago, but Emma Watson’s acting career definitely has not. Since hanging up her wand, the 23-year-old actress has been in hit movies such as The Perks of Being a Wallflower, The Bling Ring, and her latest movie, Noah.
We’ve seen this star grow up in front of our eyes both on and off the big screen, and the success of Noah (it was number one at the box office opening weekend), we’ve decided to make a list of why we love Hermione Granger … sorry, we mean, Emma Watson.
1. She’s well-spoken
We all know that Emma made her big acting debut as Hermione, Harry Potter’s brainy best friend, but who knew she was already so well spoken at the age of 11? Here’s a throwback to an interview that she and co-star Rupert Grint did back in 2001 for the first Potter film, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone.
2. She believes in education
The 23-year-old is not only acting in our favourite films but she’s also enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program at Brown University which she began in 2009. Between completing her degree, she’s acted in such films like My Week With Marilyn, The Perks Of Being A Wallflower, The Bling Ring, Harry Potter and Deathly Hallows: Parts 1 and 2, and Noah. If Emma Watson can manage school and work, so can we!
Most teens believe that their idol wakes up looking beautiful with little to no makeup used, but Emma Watson lets the fans know that isn’t the case with her. On behalf of MTV, Emma wasn’t afraid to tweet the long process in getting ready for the Noah premiere in New York City this past weekend.

4. Emma’s Dance Moves
Emma Watson showed Jimmy Fallon some groovy dance moves while promoting Perks Of Being A Wallflower back in 2012.
If you saw last summer’s Bling Ring (based on the true story of a group of teenagers who robbed from the homes of the rich and famous), you would know that Emma’s character, Nicki, had some unique dance moves. She told MTV that her famous “licking her lips while dancing at club” move was actually inspired by Beyonce.
It’s definitely not the “Single Ladies” dance.
5. She can sing!
We’ve always known she can act but did you know she can sing? Emma is a woman full of talent and surprises. Musician Ben Hammersley released an EP two months ago which featured the actress’ soothing voice on the song, “Pantomime.” (Seriously, we’re in love with this song). Oh, she also sings in Noah (in theatres now!)
Ten points to Gryffindor!
