Knowing too much about Miley Cyrus might actually be a good thing — if you’re a student at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, New York, that is.
The school will be offering a course called “The Sociology of Miley Cyrus: Race, Class, Gender and Media” this summer. The course aims to study Miley’s cultural impact by using the former Disney star “as a lens through which to explore sociological thinking about identity, entertainment, media and fame.”
Skidmore students excitedly tweeted about this addition to their curriculum by posting photos of flyers advertising the class onto the social networking site. Most of the tweets have been taken down but the full course description can be found below.
Considering how divisive Miley as a pop culture phenomenon has become, there’s no doubt there will be lots to talk about.
