A lot of fans were grossed out when Lady Gaga let “vomit artist” Millie Brown throw up all over her during her SXSW performance. But the Mother Monster has been known to shock people for the sake of it (*cough* meat dress*), so we weren’t entirely surprised.

But Demi Lovato had a point when she called the singer out for glorifying and glamourizing eating disorders and bulimia.

So responding back to Lovato, Lady Gaga opened up about her own past experiences with eating disorders.

“I have struggled with an eating disorder for over 10 years and I take that very seriously, I take the struggle of others very seriously,” she told E! ”I am very supportive of Demi’s struggle and her recovery as well as the recovery of anyone who is suffering from that.”

However, she still has no regrets about the vomiting stunt.

“…this performance had absolutely nothing to do with any eating disorder, and we never intended for it to be taken that way. I’m really proud of the performance and really stand by the message of rage and pain that we were trying to express in that moment.”

Personally, I still don’t know how I feel about this. But at least Gaga didn’t fuel the fire even further. Her response was classy and supportive towards Demi. And I guess Gaga will always be a little eccentric!
