Musical Prozac: Chromeo, Jennifer Lopez, and more!

Spring is here! *looks out window* Well technically it is. Celebrate the vernal equinox with this week’s playlist of new music.

“FALLINLOVE2NITE” by Prince with Zooey Deschanel

For those of us wondering why Prince was onĀ New Girl recently, this may be an answer. Prince has teamed up with everybody’s favourite indie girl on this infectious new track. No word yet if his butterfly friend was involved.

“Jealous (I Ain’t With It)” by Chromeo

This is Chromeo’s second single leading up to the release of their next albumĀ White Women (out May 12) and I am EXTREMELY excited for their new album to come out. Seriously guys, I have been dancing to this song for about three hours straight.

“I Luh Ya Papi” by Jennifer Lopez ft. French Montana

Apparently this is JLo’s 1oth album. Um, what? When did that happen? Anywho, it seems that with this video Jennifer has decided to turn the patriarchy on its head and objectify men. On that premise alone I was already intrigued. But then the song started, and it’s possibly the catchiest thing I have ever heard. It may even get Jason Derulo’s “Talk Dirty to Me” out of my head.

“Summer” by Calvin Harris

I’m already predicting that this is the song you will be sick of hearing on the radio/in the club by the time September rolls around. But for now I will play it on repeat while watching yet another winter storm occur outside my window.
