Across The Pond: ROOM 94

Posted on March 18, 2014 by Rebecca Mattina

As an admirer of British pop culture, ANDPOP’s Rebecca Mattina jumped at the opportunity to live in the United Kingdom for five months. While there, she’ll be writing about all the amazing things we’re missing out on across the pond.
Living in the UK for five months means I get the chance to spend plenty of time in the land of the beautiful accents, music and boys.
As an admirer (to put it mildly) of British pop culture, I couldn’t be more thrilled to be here and to soak it all in. Every week I plan to bring you something awesomely British that I think is worth checking out: be it music, fashion or some fun famous faces you may not know well or know at all.
Let’s get right down to it.
This week I bring you a group of boys definitely worth the “fangirl” label: ROOM 94.

This pop-rock group is made of four members: brothers Keiran (lead singer), Dean (drummer and back-up vocals), Sean (guitarist and back-up vocals) and their friend Kit (bass player). Great voices, great hair, really great smiles and let’s not forget those accents. But there’s so much more to them than just that.

First, their songs are insanely catchy. Their sound is like a mix of Emblem3 , Marianas Trench and Fall Out Boy; fun pop-rock melodies that you can dance around to in your bedroom (or maybe that’s just me?). Make sure to listen to their recently released debut album, No Strings Attached.

Secondly, they’re insanely charming.  The kind of guys you would party with day or night with no questions asked. I doubt there’s ever a dull moment when they’re together — just watch some of their YouTube videos.
Last but not least, they know how to put on a show. I watched a few of their music videos before going to see these guys play a couple weeks ago and they did not disappoint! Their energy on stage is infectious and the crowd full of screaming girls is the proof. Sean spent five minutes making animal noises on stage and I swear I fell in love.
So what are you waiting for? Get on board, my fellow music junkies!
