We couldn’t help but melt when nine-year-old Quvenzhané Wallis sashayed through last year’s the red carpet with her puppy bags in tow. Imagine just how cute she would be with a real dog, which is exactly what happens in the upcoming remake of the classic musical, Annie!
The Oscar-nominated Beasts of the Southern Wild actress plays the titular character, a foster child who gets taken in by billionaire and New York City mayoral hopeful Will Stacks (Jamie Foxx). Also joining the cast are Cameron Diaz as the evil Miss Hannigan and Bridesmaids’ Rose Byrne as Stacks’ assistant Grace.
With Jay Z and Will Smith backing this project as producers, there’s no doubt this musical will have a great soundtrack to round off such classics like “It’s A Hard Knock Life” and “Tomorrow.”
