Benedict Cumberbatch photobombs u2 at the Oscars

Hollywood’s class clowns and prom queens were revealed as the film’s brightest stars were crammed into one room.Fortunately for us, the cameras are always rolling and we get to relive funny and moving moments over and over again.

Here’s a look at the best GIFs from the night.

1. Photobombing

Benedict Cumberbatch and Brad Pitt photobombed Ellen’s selfie with 12 Years a Slave‘s Chiwetel Ejiofor.

Jared Leto photobombed a photo with Kevin Spacey.

Lupita Nyong’o’s brother, Peter Nyong’o, photobombed “Ellen’s Epic Selfie.”

2. Dancing

Pharell broke out the Vivienne Westwood mountie hat, not to mention some slick dance moves as he went right up to the audience and grooved with Lupita Nyong’o, Meryl Streep and Amy Adams. Who do you think had the best moves?

3. Collection

What is this, church or the Oscars? Ellen collected pizza money by passing around Pharell’s hat but Lupita wasn’t having any of it.

4. Pizza

In the words of Jennifer Lawrence, “pizza fixes everything” and Ellen must have known because she ordered and delivered pizza to the A-listers in the audience. Even Brad Pitt got in on the action but handing out paper plates. Who thought we would ever see this?

Jared Leto made sure he got a piece for his mom.

And JLaw dug in without even waiting for a plate or napkin.

5. Best speeches

Lupita Nyong’o said she use her Oscar as a reminder to herself “and every little child that no matter where you’re from your dreams are valid.”

Cate Blanchett called the Academy out in her speech saying “as random and subjective as this award is” as friendly reminder that the Oscars aren’t really the end all be all of the business. She concluded with a strong push for female power, “perhaps those of us in the industry who are still foolishly clinging to the idea that female films with women at the centre are niche experiences. They are not. Audiences want to see them and, in fact, they earn money. The world is round, people.”

Jared Leto praised his mom in his speech and was honoured to bring “the most important people” in his life, his mom and brother, to the Academy Awards.

5. Miscellaneous

And here are a few gifs that make us laugh and say “aww.”

Benedict Cumberbatch teared up when Lupita Nyong’o won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress.

The perfect gentleman, Joseph Gordon-Levitt bowed to Emma Watson when they went on stage to present another award.

A sweet kiss from Brad Pitt to his wife, Angelina Jolie.

We can feel director Steve McQueen’s excitement about winning Best Picture for 12 Years A Slave.

You’ve got to love Ellen for sneaking up on Leonardo DiCaprio and Sandra Bullock.

A little behind-the-scenes look at what when into the record breaking, “Ellen’s Epic Selfie.” Turns out you were wrong, JLaw. It got all the retweets it needed just the way it was.

And of course we can’t stop laughing at this GIF of JLaw falling on the red carpet and taking down the people around her, classic.
