Matt Peterson asks Miley Cyrus out

There are a slew of formal events happening on a daily basis around the world. For some people, it’s not enough just to ask a friend to go as a date. Thanks to YouTube, many have dreamed big and asked their celebrity crushes out in hopes that they would go viral.

From military balls to high school proms, here are the top 5 videos where regular folks ask the girl/boy of their dreams to go with them to the big dance.

 “Go With Me Mila”

A couple of years ago before video proposals were so popular, Sgt. Scott Moore made a video from Afghanistan asking Mila Kunis to join him in North Carolina for the Marine Corps. Ball. Kunis found out about the video during a press interview for Friends with Benefits and decided right then, she would go.

“Go With Me Justin — J.T. Called OUT!”

Following in Moore’s footsteps, Kelsey De Santis, a Marine based in Virginia asked Justin Timberlake to accompany her to the Marine Corps Ball. Timberlake was part of the reason Mila Kunis accepted her invite to a military event and now he was being called out on it. Like a sweetie, Timberlake accepted. He even blogged about the event the next day, saying it was “one of the most moving evenings” he’s ever had.

“Miley, Prom?”

The most recent prom invite to be circling the web is Matt Peterson’s video where he asked Miley Cyrus to go to his Arizona prom with him in May. He even used video clips of their two previous encounters and paid tribute to Miley’s one-of-a-kind fashion sense.

“Victoria Justice, Will You Go To Prom With Me?”

It’s hard to ignore what a teacher tells you to do and Max Whitmore from New Jersey knew what he was doing when he asked peers and teachers to vouch for him in his video invite to Victoria Justice.

But the best part? She replied and to his surprise, took him up on the offer.

“Come to Formal with Me, Joe Jonas”

California university student Shaina Kohli asked Joe Jonas to her formal last year and his reply might just be the best video yet.

A ridiculous event proposal video would be 100 percent worth making if I could get a personal video reply from my celebrity crush like the one Joe made.
