When doing business, it’s all about working with people you can trust and be creative with, and it looks like Demi Lovato feels the same way. The “Neon Lights” singer has recruited her Camp Rock co-star and friend, Nick Jonas, to be her musical and creative director during her Neon Lights tour.
“I’m overseeing video content, wardrobe, lighting and staging,” he tells Rolling Stone. “And then I’m extending into the musical side of things, which includes creating the arrangements for the songs. I’m building what Demi wanted, which is a show without stops and starts.
The tour may just be kicking off in Vancouver on February 9 (that’s next week!!) but this specific collaboration has been months on the making. In fact, he started to work with Demi on her tour around the same time the Jonas Brothers announced their split. Nick and Demi share the same tour manager, he explained.
“I was immediately excited when I was offered the position. The relationship that Demi and I had over eight years really gives me the insight into how to best communicate with her and her team.”
If you’re hoping to catch Nick during a Neon Lights stop near you, you might have to cross your fingers. “I won’t be at every single show,” Nick says. “I’ll get the tour up and running, make sure it’s running smoothly, and then check in every few weeks.”
After that wraps up, Nick will focus on finishing his upcoming solo project which we obviously can’t wait for.
