Musical Prozac: Justin Bieber, The 1975, and more!

British rock band the 1975

With a pick from Harry Styles’ favourite band and a song from The Lego Movie, this week’s Musical Prozac is nothing but fun!

1. ” Settle Down” by The 1975

The English rockers’ latest video is one of my favourite song of theirs. It’s indie rock with just the right amount of funky so it’s not too heavy. The video is pretty good too, if only for the fact that frontman Matty Healy looks dreamy in black and white.

2. “Confident” Justin Bieber ft. Chance the Rapper

The Biebs has been in the news quite a bit recently, but for the purposes of this segment lets just focus on why we love him in the first place. Justin seems determined to mark his place in the rap/hip-hop world and this song definitely gets his foot in the door. Featuring rap wunderkind (and Childish Gambino protégé) Chance the Rapper, this song is mature and sexy and I hope Bieber keeps going in this direction.

3. “Worst Part” by STACEY

This sweet, yet heartbreaking song is newcomer STACEY’s first video from her self titled debut album (released last December). It’s an amazing debut, and we can’t wait to hear what the Toronto songstress has in stores for us!

4. “Everything is Awesome” by Tegan and Sara ft. The Lonely Island

I defy you to find an adult more excited for The Lego Movie than I am. And when I heard that Tegan and Sara were teaming up with Andy Samberg and The Lonely Island boys, I almost wept with excitement. This song is pretty amazing for a song that’s basically for kids and I guarantee that you will have it stuck in your head for the near future. (sorry) (not sorry)
