It’s been a bad couple of months for boy band fans: Big Time Rush called it quits after their Nickelodeon show of the same name ended its run in July, and the Jonas Brothers surprised everyone with their break-up back in October. Now the U.K.’s The Wanted have announced that they will be taking a break after their upcoming Word Of Mouth tour ends later this year.
The band posted the news on their official website Wednesday morning.
The post began innocently enough as they revealed that “Glow In The Dark” from their latest album Word of Mouth will be their next single and will soon get the music video treatment. They then shocked fans by announcing that these projects will be the last the band puts out for a while as they will be taking a break after their 2014 world tour ends.
“This tour will be their last for a while as Tom, Max, Jay, Siva and Nathan have collectively decided to take time to pursue personal endeavours following the tour’s conclusion,” the post reads. “The band wants to stress to their fans that they will continue on as The Wanted and look forward to many successful projects together in the future. They thank their fans for their continued love and support and look forward to seeing them on tour.”
By that we hope that means Siva will have all the time in the world to plan out his wedding with fiancé, shoe designer Nareesha McCaffrey, which we’ll obviously want an invite to.
The tour kicks off Feb. 8 in Germany and will wrap up in Oklahoma on May 17. The boys will be in Toronto on April 17. See them while you can as it may be the last chance you get.
