Ariana Grande took to Facebook on Sunday to address all the hate she’s getting for her new ‘do.
Grande recently went back to her natural hair colour — brown — and is doing away with letting her long, wavy hair flow and sticking to ponytails. For that she’s taking a lot of heat online about being a “fashion repeat” with her hair.
Having had enough with the criticism, Grande cleared the air about her look to fans.
She wrote on Facebook: “I had to bleach my hair and dye it red every other week for the first 4 years of playing Cat … as one would assume, that completely destroyed my hair.”
She explained that since her hair is so damaged, the only way she believes her hair looks decent is to have it up in a ponytail and thus, it’s the only look she feels comfortable with (“for the first time in years,” nonetheless).
Not to worry, Sam & Cat fans. The star wears a wig for the show to keep Cat’s signature red hair look and give her a chance to regrow her natural locks.
The actress also wrote that she has tried weaves and wigs to give her more diversity in her looks and to help change up her look for auditions, but she says the wigs “looked RIDICULOUS” and the weaves made her want “to rip my scalp off.”
Grande also left an important message to everyone at the end of her rant: “IT’S JUST HAIR AFTER ALL. There are way way way more important things. Love y’all very much.”
Most stars who have been left with damaged hair thanks to various projects usually choose to cut off their locks. Hair dye’s most recent high profile victim was Jennifer Lawrence, who chopped off her golden hair into a pixie cut because of all the hair dying she had to do for the Hunger Games. She will now wear wigs while filming the next two instalments of the Hunger Games. Would Grande be willing to do the same?
We doubt it, but Grande has recently started using Facebook again and is constantly on Instagram so we are sure to see her “hairvolution” this year.
Along with her new look, new music also appears to be on its way as she revealed she started working on her second album last week and will be in the studio most of this week as well.
studio rat for the next few days…. ??????

I can’t wait to hear some new tunes from this vocal powerhouse, and let’s be honest, she’s still got hair I would kill for regardless of the style or condition it’s in.
