With my volume on full blast it sure is “Louder” in here with the release of another Lea Michele song.
The title track for The Glee star’s upcoming album Louder debuted on Billboard Monday.

“It’s a song that, no matter what, I can play in my car with the windows down,” Michele told Billboard. “but at the same time, I feel like it shows off my voice as a singer, which is really important to me, because that’s what I do. I want to make sure that every song on my record is fun and enjoyable, but also, you hear my voice in them.”
You can listen to the track on Billboard’s SoundCloud.
The song is about being yourself for everyone, to let yourself be heard and not to fear your own voice and abilities. As Michele says to Billboard, “I always think it’s so important to live your life to the fullest, and love as hard as you can love, and fight as hard as you can fight. Be loud, be bold, be yourself, whether or not people understand that message. That’s what I think of when I think of the song and album.”
“Louder,” which comes out as a single January 14, feels like a throwback to the late-90s, early 2000s music. Her powerful voice immediately takes over the music, in a good way, bringing the focus to the lyrics. My favourite lyric that I think encapsulates what the song is about is, “come out of the shadow. Step into the light. This could be the moment. It could change your life.”
The audio release of “Louder” follows the music video debut of “Cannonball” last Thursday (January 9), which is the first single off the album Louder due March 4.
Michele seems very eager for everyone to hear Louder, an album that’s been in the works for four years. Until I get the full album in March, I’ll be jumping around to “Louder” and belting out “Cannonball” 24/7.
