Love it or hate it, without a doubt Miley Cyrus took 2013 and made it her year. She’s no doubt looking to do the same in 2014 and has started it off right by scooping up the February cover of LOVE magazine. The publication shared the cover on Instagram Monday morning.
Miley is a romantic punk as she dons a reddish-pink soft mohawk, minimal make-up and tangerine shirt with a high ruffled collar. With her eyes closed, Miley seems calm and relaxed, something we really wouldn’t have expected from the outspoken, high-energy singer.
The high fashion magazine cover is no doubt a win for Miley who more or less revealed to the New York Times that there was “something” (which we assume was a cover) in the works with Vogue:
“I can’t say too much. But it was where I was kind of going to have to do this trade-off, and I wasn’t willing to. Right now, me doing any kind of cover for anything that’s like, a Seventeen or Teen Vogue or whatever, the way that I talk isn’t the way that people that are 17 really understand.”
If anything, it was Vogue’s loss. Miley has truly caught the zeitgeist this year, making everyone’s Top 10 Year End lists, including Time Magazine’s Best Dressed and Worst Dressed list.
Oh, Miley. Never change. You’re doing something right.
