If Target isn’t going to sell physical copies of your album, you might as well go with their biggest competitor.
After the company announced that they wouldn’t be selling Beyoncé’s surprise album, the Queen made a surprise appearance at a Walmart in Tewksbury, Massachusetts.
If you haven’t been brought up to speed by the haterade Target threw at the singer, the company released this statement following the release of her album on iTunes:
“At Target we focus on offering our guests a wide assortment of physical CDs, and when a new album is available digitally before it is available physically, it impacts demand and sales projections.
“While there are many aspects that contribute to our approach and we have appreciated partnering with Beyonce in the past, we are primarily focused on offering CDs that will be available in a physical format at the same time as all other formats.
“At this time, Target will not be carrying Beyoncé’s new self-titled album ‘Beyoncé.’”
Well way to fight fire with fire!
Beyoncé, who not only picked up a physical copy of her new record at the store, also gave fans a special treat. Like the generous soul she is, she spent $37,5000 worth of gift cards to Walmart with the message, “Happy Holidays from Beyonce.”
Yes Beyoncé! I love how she can throw shade at her haters and still be a class act!
