Rejoice, Ed Sheeran fans! There is new solo music up from the singer up ahead and it’s all for The Hobbit sequel, The Desolation of Smaug!
According to Sheeran’s Twitter, he produced and played all the instruments (except for the cello) on his new song, “I See Fire.” He even managed to learn how to play the violin in a day!
I got the chance to produce and play all the instruments on it apart from the cello. Managed to learn violin for a day, hope you all dig it

The almost all Ed Sheeran recording will not appear on his new album but will play during the end credits of The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug instead. While we’re convinced Ed Sheeran would’ve made for a great hobbit, we’re totally stoked that director Peter Jackson let him be apart of his current epic Middle Earth trilogy.
As for a new Ed Sheeran album, the singer says “That fun starts next year.”
We can’t wait!
