R&B singer Chris Brown is finally going to rehab to deal with his anger issues.
“Chris Brown has elected to enter a rehab facility,” a statement said. “His goal is to gain focus and insight into his past and recent behaviour, enabling him to continue the pursuit of his life and his career from a healthier vantage point.”
The singer’s lawyer, Mark Geragos, said on Tuesday that Brown checked into an unnamed facility and will receive treatment for anger issues. His decision to enter rehab follows his recent release from jail for allegedly punching a man in Washingston, D.C.
While he may have narrowly escaped time behind bars after the charge was reduced from felony assault to a misdemeanour on Monday, the altercation may mean more legal trouble for Brown. Brown was placed on four years of probation after pleading guilty to assaulting his former girlfriend Rihanna in 2009.
His probation was briefly revoked after a hit and run incident this summer and he was ordered to perform an additional 1,000 hours of community service. Brown could face up to four years in prison if a judge revokes his probation again.
