YouTuber Chad Neidt creates a one minute mash-up of songs that he thinks were ripped off by other songs.
Can we just say music is a self-referential thing, hence why songs sound similar or am I reaching? Honestly, I don’t know much about music theory (I quit taking piano lessons pretty quickly) so if you want to leave a helpful comment below that would be great! I do know, though, Sara Bareilles is fully aware of how similar Katy Perry’s “Brave” is to her song “Brave” and she doesn’t mind one bit.
Chad did get one thing right: Nickelback songs do tend to sound the same. They found a formula that works for them, so why not?
