“The Wire” by HAIM
This video is a pretty amusing take on a not amusing subject: heartbreak. In it, some guys cry grown man tears over the loves they’ve lost and you just can’t help feel bad for them while simultaneously feeling good about yourself. Spoiler alert: they ultimately end up getting rejected by the ladies of Haim. Ha! The song is great too and I can’t encourage you enough to pick up a copy of Haim’s debut album Days Are Gone.
“Meant To Be” by TLC
The 90s girl in me is very excited that TLC is making music again. This one is off of their upcoming album 20, a collection of hits that will be commemorating the band’s 20th anniversary. This a great slow jam, and it’s no wonder as it was penned by the slow jam king himself (and my future boo) Ne-Yo.
“Heartbreaker” by Justin Bieber
News of this song has been blowing up on my instagram feed for a while (yes, I follow the Biebs on Instagram. What of it?!) and I was almost as excited as Beliebers for its released. I’m kind of loving this sad, post-Selena Justin; this song is honest and mature, and I hope his new album has more stuff like this.
“Timber” by Pitbull ft. Ke$ha
Now, if you see me in person I will not admit to being as big a fan of Ke$ha as I actually am. But in reality it was Ke$ha’s voice that attracted me to this song in the first place. It’s a fun little tune, that’s perfect for your mid-day hoedown….Wait, what do you mean that isn’t a thing people do?
