“Work B*tch” by Britney Spears
In this song, Brit instructs me that if I want a Lamborghini, a martini, a Mazzerati (among other things) than I need to be prepared to “work, bitch.” Rather coming off as rude, it’s kind of inspiring. You have to work hard to get those nice things, right? Now if only she could tell us why she has decided to use a British accent in her songs…
“Pour It Up” by Rihanna
I have been twerking on the street to this song ever since Rihanna released Unapologetic last year (strangely enough, that is how I feel about my twerking), so you can imagine my excitement when this video made my twerk team dreams a reality. RiRi flings money around, is barely wearing anything and when she does don clothes , it’s Chanel. It couldn’t be better.
“Rose Quartz” by Toro Y Moi
This is the latest single off of Chaz Bundick aka Toro y Moi’s third album Anything in Return. Though a fairly unknown rapper, Chaz has had three albums out and has worked with some huge artists including Tegan and Sara. This video is both beautiful and will have you shimmying all over the place.
“I Can’t Describe (The Way I Feel)” by Jennifer Hudson Featuring T.I.
Jennifer Hudson makes a return to music with the cool track produced by man of the summer, Pharrell Williams. Here, Hudson channels the vibe of the early 80s and makes a great feel good track. It’s also super catchy, so be prepared to have it stuck in your head for at least two days afterward.
