Of all the Instagram clichés, we have a complicated relationship with the selfie. While getting “likes” is a huge boost for our egos, we’d rather not spend our precious time taking photo after photo in hopes we finally found the light and all our good angles like Tyra Banks taught us to. It’s a bigger pain in the ass when we know we could’ve used that time doing something more productive, like watching Will Ferrell’s Casa de mi Padre on Netflix.
Besides, how can we ever duckface again after seeing mrpimpgoodgame‘s (a.k.a. Benny Winfield Jr.) Instagram account? It’s just Instagram after Instagram after instagram selfie goodness. Is it the account of a man who likes a good self-portrait? Is it a commentary on our self-obsessed culture? Or is it one of those “a photo a day” experiment to document his changing looks?
We don’t know for sure but we do know it takes a special kind of man to take countless of selfies without feeling terrible about himself. For that we applaud you. It’s also the reason why we won’t be hitting the reverse camera button on our iPhones any time soon.
