Do you remember that moment in The Hills series finale when Kristen Cavallari said her goodbyes to her then-boyfriend Brody Jenner only to have the show’s producers to reveal that the last “emotional” scene was all filmed in a backlot? That little nod to the great “is it reality or is it all a lie?” question had many people going, “Wait. WTF?” long after the credits rolled.
Just in case you still feel betrayed, MTV will air the alternative ending to the Los Angeles-based reality show three years after the show called it quits, Entertainment Weekly reports.
The channel (which is more or less a shadow of its former self) will broadcast the new ending on Friday August 9 at 11:30 a.m. ET as part of its “RetroMTVBrunch” programming. They will also air episodes from both Laguna Beach and its highly successful spinoff The Hills. (How these shows are considered “Retro” I will never know.) Cast members from MTV’s Girl Code and Awkward will also be on hand to provide their best MTV After Show imitations by commentating on the “vintage” series.
What I’d rather see though is an update on what happened to everyone on the show, but I really don’t care about Lauren Conrad’s success or Kristen Cavallari’s baby. I’d rather learn about what happened to Justin Bobby and whether or not he retired his many beanies. We ask the hard-hitting questions here at ANDPOP.
