Seventh Grader Sends Hello Kitty in Space

Posted on February 7, 2013 by

There have been a lot of different toys shot into space already: a robot, a train and a Canadian Lego man. The latest addition to this surprisingly long list is none other than Hello Kitty!

The iconic feline toy got a a free ride to space thanks to 7th grader, Lauren Rojas. According to the video description, Rojas built Hello Kitty’s aircraft for a science project and decked it out with Go Pro cameras and sensors to detect temperature, elevation and pressure.

I must admit that this is pretty impressive, even in the event it was all Dad’s creation. Maybe it’s just me, but most middle schoolers probably would’ve made vinegar and baking soda volcanoes.
