The PowerPuff Girls to Return to Television with a Special Guest

Posted on January 29, 2013 by

Girls and cartoon fanatics everywhere, rejoice! The Cartoon Network has announced the return of THE POWERPUFF GIRLS!

That’s right, folks! The pint-sized superheroines known as Blossom, Bubbles and Buttercup will return for a TV special to be released later this year. According to the press release, the kindergarten-aged trio will have to not only save Townsville, but the rest of the world!

A new character named Fibonnaci Sequins will join the Powerpuff Girls for their new adventure.  Fibonnaci Sequins is Townsville’s most famous mathematician (ha ha, get it?) and will be voiced by —wait for it— RINGO STARR!

The Beatles legend has also recorded a new original song for the special titled, “I Wish I Was A Powerpuff Girl.”

For those who grew up with the girls, don’t be surprised if they look a little different. The new installment of  The Powerpuff Girls will be computer generated. The Bleeding Cool believes this is what Bubbles, Blossom and Buttercup will look like:

Am I a little skeptical? A little, but it doesn’t mean I can’t be a little excited to see an old favourite return to television!
